Wild Rice Bread

Here's a handy recipe for baking wild rice into bread. The wild rice keeps the bread extra moist. I make my dough in a bread maker then bake it in the oven.

Recipe

1 cup warm water

1 tsp salt

3 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup white flour

1 1/2 tsp bread maker yeast

Add the ingredients sequentially into the bread maker. Turn on the "Dough" setting. Gradually add 1 cup of pre-cooked wild rice as the paddle is mixing the ingredients. This helps the wild rice spread evenly throughout the loaf. If the dough looks too moist add some extra flour.

Either bake the bread in the bread maker or remove from the breadmaker at the end of the Dough cycle, pat into a greased loaf pan, allow to rise for about 15min, then bake in an oven pre-heated to 350' for 30min.
